a bunch of warped thoughts that don't make sense to me.
I wrote this last night, but forgot to post it, so here it is now.
Hello Blog,
I am currently lying outside in a hammock. It’s cold and it’s raining, and I’m thinking. Thinking about Jesus. Yes, Jesus was a man; a man who came to earth to save us from our sins. He was a man of many great characteristics. In fact, a man of ALL great characteristics. And that includes all the fruit of the spirits. Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness and Self-Control. Thats a pretty long list. I often wonder what it would be like if Jesus was walking this earth right now. To further my wondering, I wonder if females ever took a romantic liking to Jesus when He was on this earth. I mean, those qualities are all qualities a girl couldn’t resist. With those characteristics, I wonder if he was a gentleman. Okay, so gentleman these days might be different to what females thought of being a gentleman back then, but I can’t help but wonder. I understand He treated females with respect.
I believe you can be a gentleman without having any romantic feelings for the girl. One of my work mates (who by the way is happily married) opens the door for me at work and lets me go first. He carries stuff for me when I have my arms full. I arrived at work one morning and my boss (who is also happily married) was standing on the other end of the carpark. He went out of his way and walked right over to me and opened my car door for me as soon as I stopped. Little things like that really do make my day, and I believe that’s what a gentleman is all about. Maybe guys disagree. I don’t know. Did Jesus do things like that? Seems like just kindness to me.
Though, these days, some guys kinda creep me out. Earlier this evening, I was walking along the beach at Papamoa. It was pretty much stranded and I was a fair bit away from the beach access and a creepy looking man came along and started following me. Yeah I made it home safe, but he scared me. That guy didn’t show any of the things Jesus would show or any things of a gentleman
Jesus was/is the master of Love. After all, God IS love. He died on the cross for me. Love screaming loud! If I ever found a guy that would die in my place, wow! What a darling.
Jesus was/is the master of Joy. An inner happiness that you just wanna yell loud and proud. When guys have an inner joy (ie the joy of the Lord), they are very pleasant to be around. Now, Jesus had the optimum amount of this. He must have been outstanding to be around. Attractive much?
Jesus was/is the master of Peace. Who wouldn’t want to hang out with a guy so calm and peaceful? Jesus was calm when things didn’t go as planned.
Jesus was/is the master of Patience. Love is Patient. God is love. Therefore, God = Patience.
Jesus was/is the master of Kindness. He healed people who were sick, helped people etc. Huge Kindness. Kindness is attractive.
Jesus was/is the master of Goodness. ‘God is good all the time. All the time God is good.’ This one kinda links in with the kindness one. Hope you get my gist.
Jesus was/is the master of Faithfulness. What girl wouldn’t want a faithful husband. In today’s society, they are becoming less and less faithful (and yes, not to be biased, so are girls).
Jesus was/is the master of Gentleness. Gentle? Man? Gentleness? Yes?
Jesus was/is the master of Self-Control. Girls weren’t a stumbling point for Him. He wasn’t easily angered. If I find a guy with a 100% self-control, he will woo me.
If I met a guy today that was high up on the scale of all the fruit of the spirits, I think I would fall head over heels in love with him. So what would have stopped girls taking a romantic liking to Jesus when He was walking on earth. He knew how to handle those crushes. What a dude! Just so you know, I’m head over heels in love with my Jesus!
PS I do realise meeting a guy high up on the scale of all the fruit of the spirits is impossible. I am not oblivious to that fact and do not expect my future husband to be perfect. Flawed please. BUT, when a guy strives to be more like Jesus every day, it’s a huge turn-on hehe.
